Dr Brenner is Board Certified in General Psychiatry and holds certificates in Psychoanalysis and Organizational Psychodynamics from The William Alanson White Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Psychoanalysis in New York City. As a private practitioner and director of Brighter Neurotherapeutics, Dr Brenner provides each patient with a comprehensive TMS treatment protocol designed to address their specific needs and goals, finding successful results in even the most difficult cases of treatment-resistant depression. Backed by the overwhelming science behind neurotherapy and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), Dr Brenner collaborates with the leading experts in neuroscience and imaging along with a comprehensive in-office care team to achieve transformative and measured results, every step of the way.
Mark D Allen, PhD
CO-FOUNDER COGNITIVE FX, NEUROSCIENTIST
Dr Allen is a leading neuroscientist and co-founder of Cognitive FX, a New York-based functional MRI imaging clinic that specializes in evidence-based treatment for persistent brain injuries and treatment-resistant depression. Dr Allen earned a PhD in Cognitive Science at Johns Hopkins University with post-doctoral training in Cognitive Neuroscience and Functional Neuroimaging at the University of Washington. As a cofounder of Cognitive FX and a pioneer in the development of fMRI for use in clinical settings, Dr Allen is a close collaborator and colleague, working directly with each patient and the team at Brighter Neurotherapeutics to develop a strong scientific foundation to each and every treatment protocol, and delivering adaptive and measured results through state of the art imaging. Soe Thein, MD
BOARD CERTIFIED PHYSICIAN-PSYCHIATRIST, SPECIALIST IN CHILD, ADOLESCENT & ADULT PSYCHIATRY
Dr. Soe Thein is a double board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist based in New York City. He brings together psychiatric medicine, interventional psychiatry and psychoanalytic therapy. He has a deep commitment to understanding each patient as a whole person, not just a set of symptoms.
Dr. Thein received his medical degree from the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine, graduating with distinction. He completed his general psychiatry residency and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at UC Davis Medical Center, where he developed specialized expertise in the emotional and developmental needs of young people and their families.
He is currently a candidate at the Columbia University Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research. He previously completed a two-year psychodynamic psychotherapy training at the San Francisco Center for Psychotherapy.
Dr. Thein is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both General Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
Buyong Kim
MEDICAL ASSISTANT & PATIENT EXPERIENCE SPECIALIST
Buyong graduated from Columbia University in May 2025 with a BA in Neuroscience and Behavior. Before joining our team, she worked in direct patient care as a medical assistant and conducted neuroscience research at NYU Langone. She now brings this experience to Brighter NeuroTherapeutics, where she guides patients through each step of the TMS treatment process.
